For me, research and community-building share a single commitment: giving people meaningful ownership over the systems around them. While my research examines how users can shape platform mechanisms, my service helps community members actively shape the spaces they belong to.

Support 1,100+ master’s students by helping peer-led committees run academic, mentoring, and social programming. Named Student Organization of the Year (2025–2026).

Undergraduate Student Representative (Elected University Senator)

Hong Kong Baptist University · 2024–2025

Represented 5,000+ undergraduates on the University Senate. Set up discussion groups across departments to listen to student feedback and bring real concerns directly to campus leadership. Recognized with the HKBU Outstanding Student Leaders Award (2024–2025).

Event Lead & Communications Officer

Social Service Association, Hong Kong Baptist University · 2022–2023

Organized diverse volunteer programs—including rural teaching in Yunnan, mountain clean-ups, and animal shelter work—managing outreach and operations. This was my first hands-on experience in building and running community projects.
